Film: IF
So much fun and joy in this film about Imaginary Friends (IFs) that will immediately take you back to yours. I don’t recall any but I believed the fly around the dining room window to be my companion as I was the only kid in my house, my siblings all being much older.
Young Bea’s mother died of cancer and her dad is in hospital for heart surgery. It was during this emotional time that Bea first spotted an IF while staying with her grandmother. It turns out she can see the imaginary friends that are now seemingly surplus to requirements now that their friends have grown up.
But of course, we always need friends.
I’m still singing the Tina Turner track that features throughout the film a month later. It seems like someone had decided that they were going to include this track and then maxed the usage and turned it up. It’s one of my faves so that made me enjoy the film even more.
