Movie: The Jungle Book

I don’t know whether I’ve just suppressed it but once again, I find myself watching a children’s story that I don’t recall reading/watching as a child. But as always, it doesn’t matter and it becomes more familiar as the film unfolds.This is a lovely film depicting the orphaned kid who is found by a panther and raised by wolves in the jungle. Once the all-powerful lion discovers him, it is best that the man-cub goes back to the man village. But a few tricks and treats are in store for us along the way.The only baddie is the lion as I’m sticking with the story in my head that (my beloved) monkeys are just cheeky opportunists and won’t harm a fly. Or a man-cub.A delight, as you would expect!7½/10
