Movie: Star Wars: The Force Awakens (8½/10)

This is my first Star Wars ever and it was worth getting u at 6.30 am to catch the early showing on release day. A month on I was hoping to see it again before I write this – but that opportunity is still to come.I’ve never seen any of the films on TV, not as far as I recall from my childhood anyway. I do remember the Star Wars magazines and collectors cards. It just seemed like boys stuff.I got swept a little bit with the bf’s excitement. He was more excited about this than a Bond film – now that, I will never get in to.So I find myself watching Star Wars at 7.30 in the morning with a large coffee in one hand and a Danish in a bag, ready for when my appetite catches up with my early morning jolt. We’re introduced to BB8 at the start and straight away I’m in love with this little robot. It awakened a love for robots that I never realised I have. The rest of the film only got better as I’m introduced to all the characters I’ve heard about, seen in images or have been much imitated.I get it. It has humour, action – lots of action, plenty of good messages, heroes and villains and it's a feel good story. What’s not to love?8½/10Smile factor 10/10
