Film - The Kindergarten Teacher

Oh my, what a startlingly good film. It’s sad, joyous although ultimately pretty dark. The teacher (Maggie Gyllenhaal) has her heart in the right place in terms of wanting to nurture this child who clearly has a talent for poetry that people 10 times his age don’t have.Ignored by her own children and with an indifferent husband, she goes about it every wrong way that is possible which can only lead to catastrophe.Compelling. 7½/10
