Film: The Fall Guy
The Fall Guy is a highly enjoyable film that combines action and comedy. The only thing I remember from the 80s series of the same name is the title, which was only triggered by Lee Majors, who played the bionic man in my generation, making a cameo in the film.
In the film, the main character Colt is a stuntman who retired from the film industry after getting seriously injured while performing a stunt he had done many times before. Unable to come to terms with his mistake, he disappears from the scene and from his girlfriend, who is a camerawoman, and starts working in a restaurant.
Colt is lured back into the film world by a producer who pretends to be his camerawoman girlfriend, now making her directorial debut. He is hilariously embroiled in the criminal world as he is tasked with finding a missing movie star, for whom he used to be the stunt double, to save the film from destruction.
I love the humour and Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once ) is perfectly cast as the movie star's PA. Oh, and the soundtrack led by the persistent playing of one my my favourites, I Was Made For Loving You by KISS.
