Film - King Richard
The most dangerous creature on this whole earth is a woman who knows how to think.
Great to see the back story we’ve heard so much about unfold on the big screen. I thought it may be too stretched at two and a half hours but it was filled well.
There was just the right amount of issues; racism, gangs, violence and general, criminal activity for it to hit home without it overwhelming the William’s family story. King Richard almost divides into three parts; after a good view of the upbringing it moved to phase two, the science of creating the best tennis players in the world before gaining fans and moving into champion territory.
As the title suggests, this is the story of how Serena and Venus Williams’ father raised and coached to be the tennis champions they are.
I was intrigued to see how the sisters got on, as youngsters in competitive sport and how they dealt with the ups and downs together.
I don’t know how much of all detail is true but I suspect knowing what we know about King Richard,it probably is.
The film is joyful, inspiring and vital - just like their dad’s contribution to their success. I love them a little bit more.
