Film - Jojo Rabbit
This Nazi satire seems to have divided opinions and mine is that it’s a delight. Set at the end of WW2, it’s definitely not a good time to be a Nazi.
Ten-year-old Jojo counts Hitler as a role model and is desperate to fit in with his gang and his beliefs are turned upside down when he finds his mother is hiding a young Jewish girl.
Jojo Rabbit perfectly illustrates for its 12a audience just how the Nazis fooled people into believing their propaganda by being charming, organised and well dressed. Author Jane Thynne writes excellent novels based on this too. Look how much we assume anyone who behaves this way is much more likely to be trusted than someone who is tardy, uneducated or dressed scruffily?
Jojo Rabbit is incredibly funny around the obviously dark stories, It should be shown in schools.
