Birthday Trip 2015: Munich

After two hotel rooms with separate duvets, we fell in love with KK Hotel in Munich the instant we saw the double bed with one big cover. Hotel staff were as friendly as those in Vienna and on top of that, the room is near perfect (see hotel reviews). There was a kettle for late night chai making, a little fridge and power points and mirrors in the right places along with plenty of towels on the heated rail. Bliss.

Having visited Düsseldorf, Berlin and Hamburg, Munich seemed a missing link so it was lovely to pop over on the train from Salzburg to have a little coffee crawl to see the sights before the flight home. Hamburg is still my favourite of the German cities and Munich seemed less friendly - even than Vienna and Salzburg. Visiting three cities in a week to celebrate my birthday may seem ambitious but it is so civilised when done by train.@RickieWrites
