Bad Boys: Ride or Die
This is my first Bad Boys film. I might have watched it anyway, but we ended up seeing it due to a power failure while trying to watch Furiosa.
Everything about this franchise over the last 30 years led me to believe it was a load of sexism. Will Smith to still be involved with the project as a father of grown-up children made me think it cannot be that bad in 2024. Also, we’ve all matured since the mid-1990s.
It is exactly what you’d expect. Sweary, witty and focused on loyalty although a little more violent and tense than I expected. Miami Vice with less style and more humour.
I’m unclear how a copper affords a Porche (and a family) but I guess that’s where the Miami Vice influence comes in.
