Movie: Train Wreck
Yes, it is.It has been a light summer for films hasn’t it? Still, I have too at least try any get value from my Cineworld card during these lean weeks. My theory has been blown. It turns out, if the trailers are all bad, the film isn’t necessarily good. In fact there may have just been one 20 minute trailer because the films all looked the same and all had that irritating, kooky phone advert music. Are we still in 2011?The film? Dire. Should have known from the title, but who wants to watch two hours of an insecure trollop wearing too short skirts and too high heels and works at a lads magazine in New York? But like I said, there’s nothing else on.Upside 1: Tilda Swinton playing the bad boss.Upside 2: Lebron James playing a cartoonish version of himself. It’s full of obvious, cheap yet unfunny jokes but there was a good joke about cheerleaders, which I now forget. The last 10 minutes were hilarious, if with a very predictable romantic ending. Honestly, I wished it ended with someone dying just to make it more interesting.I'm obviously missing the gene that makes film critics rave over this film. How is this two hours long? It made old Sex in the City episodes look incredible funny. I’d rather have watched the same episode of SATC for two hours. And that really is saying something for me.1/10Smile factor 1/10Sleep factor 9/10
