Movie: The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge out of Water

It’s thrilling to see a ‘children’s’ film based on a TV series that I have no idea about. Paddington Bear was from my childhood but SpongeBob was way after so this is all refreshing to me.So if it’s new to you…..SpongeBob loyally works for the local burger joint, Krabby’s, in Bikini Bottom but one day a pirate (Antonio  Banderas) steals the formula for their famous patty and he has to get it back. In order to do this he has to team up with his nemesis Plankton (the names pretty much say what they are) and we follow their adventures in and out of various worlds while they go about saving Krabby’s and Bikini Bottom! In the midst of this, all their friends think they are the people who have stolen the secret formula and turn against them. They are on their own.There is a clever mix of real and cartoon characters with the pirate, Burger-Beard, being real but  Bubble the dolphin guarding the Cosmos is sadly not.There is a joke every 30 seconds in the energetically paced film for kids of all ages.8/10Smile factor 10/10
