Movie: The Muppets – Most Wanted
I never got into the Muppets first time around (I was too old!) but I did love the last movie, watching it as I did with other first timers some decades younger than me.I was very much looking forward to this. I didn’t realise that Ricky Gervais man was in it so that pretty much killed my buzz initially. Frankly it was a slow start and the first 20 minutes or so did not raise a smile, never mind a jump-out-of-your-seat laugh. But on this Muppets world tour, masterminded by the Badguy manager (Gervais) the laughs pick up In Madrid and just get more plentiful as the tour train rolls through Dublin, London and Siberia. The plot swaps Kermit with the world’s most wanted bad frog in order for him and Number Two (Badguy) to do some major treasure hunting.Throw in Interpol working with CIA, the imposter frog proposing to Miss Piggy and the craziness going on in the Russian prison the real Kermit is thrown in when mistaken for the Most Wanted and we have ourselves a lot of laughs. There maybe a little too many songs but that’s what the Muppets is all about. That and a stream of cameo appearances that I don’t always recognise, but you probably will.7½/10Smile factor 7½/10
