Movie - Ted

‘From the makers of ‘Family Guy’ as all the posters keep telling you so I expect equal amounts of political incorrectness and youthful humour.I only agreed to see this because there was nothing else on and it meant a rare 2 hours in the BF’s company during a very busy and productive work period for us.Ted is the talking teddy bear that John wished for as a boy but not as apt as a best friend now that he is all-grown up and with a girlfriend he’s keen to hang on to. Inevitably Ted had to move out and live on his own for the first time in his life and the film follows his trials and tribulations of being a drug taking playboy teddy bear.In his time, Ted became a minor TV sleb so add to the mix the creepy father and son team that are trying to abduct Ted for their own talking teddy bear.Whilst I can enjoy 20 minutes of Family Guy and get by on rolling my eyes when it goes beyond boundary pushing to plain offensive (there are some things that can never ever be ridiculed, especially in the sexual assault arena) the rest of the programme is incredibly funny thoughtful and sweet. This film isn’t and is about 20-30 minutes too long.Wait to watch on TV if you’re a fan.6½/10Smile factor 5/10
