Movie: Star Trek Beyond

As mentioned every time a Star Trek film is released, whilst the TV series when I was young provided essential family viewing, I’d never watched the subsequent films until I started being a Cineworld holder in 2006.In this one, as the crew go Beyond, they are attacked by an unknown enemy lead by the mysterious Krall and are separated during emergency evacuation. The Enterprise is ripped apart and Captain Kirk has to rescue the captured crew as well as finding the rest of his team who are now in different places.They encounter Jaylah who had previously escaped from captivity and found an old ship that she’s being trying to mend to make her eventual escape. It would have been good if she was bought into the mix sooner and with more depth.Otherwise, the film is full of the usual one-liners, with lashings of crew bonding and several twists and turns, including revealing the identity of the unknown Krall.7/10
