Movie – Me and Orson Welles
I have to say this really didn’t appeal to me but for the second week, nothing did. So here I am.I’m not particularly enamoured with the lead actors (Claire Danes and Zac Efron) but it was this or watching yet another end of the world flick, highly inappropriate for Christmas. So I justified this one as it’s based in New York in the 1930s so if the story is rubbish, I’ll enjoy the setting. As it turns out, pretty much the whole film is set in the theatre, following the relationships form between a wanabee actor, a starlet and of course Mr Welles. The genius was portrayed pretty much as we know him, a bit of a bully, a tyrant but of course clever and outwardly confident/inwardly insecure; the usual stereotype for artistes.Overall Me and Orson Welles is a pleasant but forgettable, easy to watch 147 minutes.
