Movie: Bastille Day
A film I hadn’t intended to see. Far from being a classic, this action thriller turned out to be pretty entertaining, with a good joke coming every 20 tension-filled minutes. It’s not the buddy movie the blurb would have us believe. With no one to trust, the CIA agent (Idris Elba) turns to Michael, the excellent American pick-pocket in Paris who accidently steals a bag with a bomb in it.Caught on CCTV, Michael is a wanted man by police and the bomb makers and soon learns he is better off with the agent’s protection. The unorthodox agent meanwhile is on his own fighting a corrupt force along with the terrorists.
With the law. Comes disorder.
It's a shame the third character, the woman who's bag was stolen wasn't bought in to the mix a litter sooner. But it works.7½/10@RickieWrites
