Movie: A Million Ways to Die in the West
No, not a film I’d ordinarily see but we were in Vancouver when it came out, hadn’t been to the cinema all week (gasp!) and the BF wanted to go.One of those comedies (from the man who brings you Family Guy and made Ted) where they speak in modern language but it’s based in the past, in this case the days of the Wild West. The prostitute jokes from Sarah Silverman paying the girlfriend of the innocent small town boy wore thin after the second one and the other 50 or so were unnecessary. As was the toilet humour – expected but excessive. The story of the luckless farmer who’s girlfriend leaves him for someone more successful who then befriends a newcomer who he doesn’t know is the wife of the most dangerous man in the region etc. etc etcThe songs were quite funny but there were relatively few funny jokes and the one about why people didn’t smile in photos back in the day was the best of bad bunch.Should have done better.5/10Smile factor 3/10
