Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning, Part One
I eagerly anticipate the latest Mission Impossible films. It's impressive that, despite being on the seventh instalment and being a reboot, they still manage to come up with unique ways to threaten the world.
The car chase scenes are legendary, taking place in bustling cities that are usually never empty. I even booked a trip to Vienna after watching one of the earlier movies, as I had yet to decide how to celebrate my birthday that year.
A couple of years ago, after returning from a trip, my local train station was filled with glamorous, luxurious brands. I thought they had finally filled the empty shopping units until I realised they were just filming this and pretending Grand Central, Birmingham was a Middle Eastern airport.
Aside from travel ideas, I appreciate that all the female characters in the movies are strong, independent, and have their own separate stories. None of them need saving.
The great thing about seeing ‘Part 1’ and loving a film is knowing you have something else to look forward to.
Watching a Mission Impossible movie is like being on a low rollercoaster. There are twists and turns, some fast rides, and moments to take in the views. In the end, you always land safely.
8½/10
PS I prefer to re-watch this movie instead of watching the highly advertised pink hysteria blockbuster that was just released after being hyped up for a year.
