Film - Where Is Anne Frank?

It’s generally good to see another version of the Anne Frank story, especially when it’s aimed at kids. In this animation, the story of Kitty, Anne’s imaginary friend, is bought to life in modern-day Amsterdam. Stepping out from the diary kept in the famous museum that was the Franks’ hideaway home, Kitty is looking for Anne everywhere, not realising she has come alive about 70 years too late.

Through Where’s Anne Frank, we learn enough about the Nazis to understand why Anne Frank’s family need to hide so it is a good introduction for young people (and some adults). And brings it up to date as it highlights the plight of refugees. Quite a beautiful film.

The copyright of the Anne Frank Diaries book expired a few years ago, as per law, 70 years after the author’s death so I expect we may see a few more interpretations.
