Film - The Harder They Fall

The film sets out to prove that people of colour and women existed in the wild west. And that it does with saddles on.

It is fantastic to see the screen filled with black men and women in a way we’ve rarely seen before although it’s a bit disappointing that they are almost all bad guys; everyone is out to kill, either to defend themselves, their power or for revenge. No-one seems to have anything to live for, but I guess, that’s how it was.

It’s a film about making big entrances and that, the director does well, especially the gripping opening scene. So for all of my annoyances that this is just another western with bullets flying, it’s a job well done. I think it’s 3rd cowboy film I have seen this year, and Concrete Cowboy also featured Idris Elba.
