Film: The Accountant
The interesting this film is learning how The Accountant, Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) came to work for the world's worst, slickest criminal organisations. As an autistic child, he was given an opportunity to live in a research institute but his military father felt he needed to stand on his own and arranged self-defence lessons instead. With the law enforcers, lead by Ray King (JK Simmons) closing in, Wolf decides to take on a job with a seemingly regular company for a while. He works reluctantly alongside the firm’s own accountant but it turns out there are criminals here too and Wolff is frustrated not to complete the audit. The Accountant lives off the radar, blows of steam by listening to mind-blowingly loud metal music in his sound-proofed room and keeps his earnings in his hideaway in cash or pricey art.He moves and changes identify when he needs to, with the help of his mysterious and equally clever PA. It is this Voice who liaises with potential new clients and generally looks out for him. His skills with numbers ensures he will always find work, as one client recommends the next.I get the impression by now he probably doesn’t need the work for money, rather he just needs to work to give order to his life. Oh and few bits of revenge. An excellent all-round thriller with lots of added value (tax).8/10
