Film - Gemini Man
Will Smith plays Henry Brogan, a newly retired government agent who’s corrupt bosses thinks he knows too much and the best way to stop working is to be dead. He is the best so a number of would-be replacement assassins are sent out to the deed and all fail. So far, so normal.
The twist comes when wicked clone creator Clay Varris (Clive Owen) sends in the lazily named Junior who he has raised as his own son, ready for the day when they can clone whole armies. I put that alarming idea to one side to watch young Will Smith going after present-day 50-year-old Will Smith going at it.
You are obviously not the best
I would have thought the part of his clone would be a shoo-in for his son Jaden to play but no, technology was used in instead. I wonder which is cheaper? It must be harder to act without a person in front of you.
There could have been a bit more humour although Gemini Man comes with a good amount of twists and turns. The female sidekick could have been much more of an equal but there are several good moments between the two (one) main leads.
Also, an obvious marketing trick has been missed by not having the posters saying starring Will Smith and Will Smith.
