Book: The Long Weekend by Veronica Henry

The Long Weekend refers to the guests staying at a fancy hotel in Cornwall for an early summer bank holiday. It centers around Nick and Claire who were teenagers when they first got together. They've been apart for 12 years, during which time Claire has managed to build a successful hotel business with her sleazy, superstar chef of a boyfriend. Nick and Claire bump into each other as he arrives for his stag weekend. Nick has been looking for her but didn't think to use the Internet to easily do so.

Whereas another pairing who never knew the other existed found each other during the same weekend. And yet another pairing, who managed to always stay in touch, using said internet, cemented their relationship.

So all the stories are about being separated from loved ones and the secrets surrounding them.

Overwritten with the need to explain things unnecessarily as if we couldn't work that out. This is in contrast to the previous read which was cleverly and heartbreakingly left to our imagination.
