Book: Redhead by the Side of the Road by Anne Tyler
I’ve liked Anne Tyler books enough to turn to her back catalogue. So I’m a little surprised that this new one is incredibly short and a little disappointing. The story of Micah Motimer the building maintenance/IT guy has no real substance. It doesn’t really have a middle, just starts and ends. At best it’s a novella and it’s unusual to learn so little about the characters - of which there are many.
I hadn’t even realised it was recent, I picked it up from the library shelf as it was the smallest and therefore ok to carry home with a broken arm.
I'm glad its not one i have bought although it only took a couple of days to read, it took my book total up for the year.
