Book: Not Working by Lisa Owens

Not working refers to a lazy, spoiled and alcohol-dependent. 

I've no idea how this got on my list. It had been there for so long; I guess it was a good idea at the time.
I did read it all very quickly despite disliking the characters. I could not get my head around how naive the junior brain surgeon was in thinking his spendthrift girlfriend of several years needed over a year off work to figure out what she wanted to do with herself. Most of which - you’ve already guessed, was spent drinking bottles of wine and popping to coffee shops.

I liked her parents as they managed to weave in much-needed humour and tried desperately not to interfere with their only child’s life. An awful childhood incident that bordered on child abuse, seemingly to add some weight, pops up, but this is a nonsensical story.
