Book - Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella
I literally picked this out of a skip a year ago (a neighbour had kindly left a few books on top) I decided after a heavy book run, a light read is needed.
I realise pretty quickly that we are dealing with mental illness bought on by trauma and we’re battling with a Daily Fail reader, but I stay with it. Audrey has a middle-class existence with her brother and parents and all is fine and until the thing happens.
I love how the different characters are weaved in slowly but exploratively and while finding Audrey, I find out more about mental illness than I expected to.
I haven’t read any Sophie Kinsella for a decade or so but the customary wit is still very much there even with a somewhat dark theme. A wonderfully quick, entertaining read. Just what I hoped.
